What is Pinen?
Pinen ist das in der Natur am weitesten verbreitete Terpen überhaupt und existiert in zwei Formen, Alpha- und Beta-Pinen. Es prägt den Geruch von Nadelwäldern und ist Hauptbestandteil von Terpentinöl. Der Cannaleo-Katalog führt beide Formen teils getrennt, teils zusammengefasst als „Pinene".

Pinen ist als Bestandteil ätherischer Öle gut untersucht, unter anderem zu Effekten auf die Atemwege. Die Datenlage stammt jedoch aus Untersuchungen an isoliertem Pinen in Konzentrationen, die mit dem Gehalt in einem Arzneimittel nichts zu tun haben. Eine daraus abgeleitete Wirkungsaussage für cannabisbasierte Präparate wäre nicht haltbar.
